John Shaw has worked as a wastewater expert on the following projects:

HOBART MILL DEVELOPMENT
This project entails the planning, economic evaluation, design , construction management and inspection, regulatory compliance and operations of complete water and wastewater utilities as well as general civil infrastructure (roads, storm drain, grading etc...) for this 133 acre development approximately 4.5 miles north of the Town of Truckee, California. This development includes a 30 acre industrial park as well as over 50 acres of recreational features.

CITY OF RENO - STEAD WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATION & MAINTENANCE
This project entails the wastewater expert comparison of the City of Reno's Stead wastewater treatment facility with three other wastewater facilities of similar design, size, user base and climatological region as well as other features. The idea behind the project is to determine the best management practice for the operation and maintenance of this type of facility.

CITY OF FALLON SEQUENCING BATCH REACTOR Wastewater Treatment Plant - 1999
This project entailed the wastewater expert design of a new 2.2 MGD Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) treatment facility for the City of Fallon, Nevada including three reactors, aerobic digester, chlorine contact chamber, secondary sludge treatment cell and control building. This $4.0 million project was bid in November 1999 and was completed in December 2000.

CITY OF LOVELOCK WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY - 1999
This project entailed a feasibility study, complete design, construction management, and construction documentation of a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR), aerobic digester, secondary anaerobic sludge digestion, mechanical building, laboratory, influent pump station, metering facilities, SCADA system and abandonment of existing facilities. This project was funded by the State of Nevada Revolving Loan Fund, the U.S. Economic Development Authority, State of Nevada Community Development Block Grant, State of Nevada AB198 Grant & Loan Program, the City of Lovelock and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The $2.2 million dollar facility went out for bid in February of 1999 and was completed in December of the same year.

CITY OF LOVELOCK - GRAVITY SEWER DESIGN - 1998
This project entailed the investigation (television and evaluating) of the existing gravity sewer system and master planning and design, construction documentation, construction management and material testing of the replacement of approximately 80% of that existing infrastructure. The construction cost of this project was $2.8 million dollars.

SKY VISTA SEWAGE LIFT STATION AND FORCE MAIN - 1996
This project entailed a planning study, the design, bidding and construction management and inspection of a 2,500 gpm triplex, self priming, below grade pump station with approximately 4,100 lineal feet of 16" diameter high density polyethylene (HDPE) force main. This was the largest sewage pump station within the City of Reno and was the first allowed by the City to use HDPE pipe material.

PET FOOD PROCESSING FACILITY Wastewater Treatment Facility - 1995
This project entailed design of a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) wastewater treatment facility with zero discharge to the adjacent Truckee River as well as an aerobic digester for this $26 million manufacturing facility located east of Sparks, Nevada. The influent waste stream includes various ingredients used in making pet food products as is very high strength.
